Tick Tock
Poem: How do we think about life?
Tick tock,
Goes the clock.
Eternity comes,
Eternity goes.
Tick tock,
Goes the clock.
Life is empty,
Life is full.
Tick tock,
Goes the clock.
***
Baby birth,
A family’s mirth.
Tick tock.
Grandma dies,
baby cries.
Tick tock.
Family full,
Graveyard toll.
Tick tock.
***
Smell the flowers,
Work for hours.
Tick.
Decisions made,
Adventure staid.
Tock.
Pendulum Swings,
Death it brings.
Tick.
Faith is free,
Come and see.

This is haunting in the quietest, most unsettling way. It reads like a nursery rhyme that learned about mortality and never recovered.
